Lie over lie,
Comes from my mouth,
When I’m confronted,
For the hundredth time.
Hiding the truth,
From myself and the world,
Hasn’t been easy.
How long will this go on?
How many more years?
When will I find the courage,
To face myself?
Being truthful is the only option,
So I’m breaking the habitual
Lying tonight.

What a brave and straightforward take on the “habit” keyword! I realise that the poem is not necessarily about you and that there is poetic licence to it, but it doesn’t make it less effective. Thanks a lot for sharing your lovely piece!

We all have to face situations in which we have to lie one or the other time. We are not willing to see ourselves as what we are and try to defend our actions with continuous lying. So this topic of pathological lying served as a wonderful theme for your topic.
Thanks for stopping by 🙂

You are right, of course. And you tackled the subject with great honesty and openness. My respect.
