The R Viswanathan Charitable Trust is a trust founded by my family after my late grandfather, R Viswanathan. This trust is involved in providing aid to the downtrodden and promoting Indian heritage and culture – from providing furniture and utensils to leprosy homes to renovating broken down temples everybody has forgotten all about.
My uncle, Ramachandran V, one of the founding members of this trust, is well-known for his uzhavarapani (renovation and cleaning of old temples) in and around Chennai. He is also the founder of the Annamalaiar Arappani Kuzhu. He has been felicitated for his social work many times by various organizations. A short film has been made on him by the Savetemples organization.
People interested in contributing to the trust, whether through money or manpower, may visit the website here. I sincerely hope you do so.
